Our Team

Michael Hugos — Co-Founder & CEO

Michael has designed and delivered supply chain applications for clients including Microsoft Xbox, Starbucks Coffee, the US Air Force, and the World Food Program. His SCM Globe modeling and simulation application is used for logistics training and operations planning worldwide. In 2024–2025, SCM Globe was awarded an SBIR grant to develop X4SIM with US Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) — an AI-assisted, multi-user platform for logistics training, wargaming, and mission planning — with Michael as principal investigator and lead designer; he also directed the commercial version, Enterprise. He is the author of several business and technology books, including Essentials of Supply Chain Management, now in its 5th edition and translated into eight languages.

Bob Caruso — Enterprise Sales Lead

Bob is a business-transformation executive with a proven record driving global, cultural, and digital transformations. He secures the consensus and commitment needed to make transformations real, and is a practical leader in strategic transformation, large project management, and customer-experience development.

Julie Anixter — Academic Partnerships

Julie is co-founder of New Scenario and a partner in Orchid Black, helping educators and enterprise leaders shape what comes next. Her work centers on partnerships and on using simulations and human-centered design for learning and decision-making during rapid change. She previously led Learning and Development at two NYSE-listed companies, holds an MFA from the University of San Francisco, and completed graduate studies in the Learning Sciences at Northwestern University under Roger Schank.

Josh Labovitz — Government Sales Lead

Joshua has extensive experience in contract management and digital transformation. Owner of LSI Accelerate since February 2025, he leads technology-growth consulting. He previously served as Vice President of Digital Customer Experience & Transformation and Portfolio Director at Throughline, Inc., overseeing projects for the Air Force and Space Force. He holds a BSBA in International Business and Marketing from American University's Kogod School of Business.

Rear Admiral (Ret.) Matt Ott — Advisor

Matt is founder and CEO of Ott and Associates. He served the US Navy on amphibious assault ships, destroyers, and aircraft carriers across all levels of tactical, operational, and strategic warfare. His service spanned the Secretary of Defense staff, the Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, and Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, culminating at NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support — leading 2,500 team members across three sites providing global supply-chain management for more than 3,900 aircraft and 300 ships, submarines, and nuclear reactors for the Navy, Marine Corps, and 80 global partners.

Barbara Shurtleff — Advisor

Barbara is a digital-technology executive and transformational leader who develops and applies techniques for corporate success and mission delivery, with an emphasis on strong customer and vendor relationships. She advises and mentors C-level executives (CEO, CIO, CISO) and their teams, and has proven experience developing technical strategy and executing business objectives across the enterprise, including cybersecurity, systemic risk and networks, and identity management.

George Topic — Advisor

George served as Vice Director of the Center for Joint and Strategic Logistics at National Defense University, Ft. McNair, Washington DC. His career as a military logistician and strategist spans more than 45 years across many levels of the Department of Defense. From 2006 to 2009 he served on the Joint Staff as Deputy Director for Strategic Logistics, responsible for strategic management of multinational, interagency, and NATO logistics, as well as information management, education, and concept-development programs.

Major General (Ret.) Lee Levy — Advisor

Lee is a retired US Air Force General Officer, CEO, and global strategic leader with more than 30 years of distinguished military service. His experience spans national and international acquisition, sustainment, logistics, global supply chains, advanced manufacturing, strategic planning, and military operations.
